Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
An aircraft ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet landed in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson stated in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to Brussels at the time.
This incident is not the initial instance that a American defense plane transporting a top government figure has encountered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Munich was required to return to Washington after encountering a technical issue.
