Football Recap: Denver Narrowly Beat Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

In a low-scoring contest this weekend, the Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late decisive three-pointer to seal the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Wins Contest

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following conceding a two-point play in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce just 82 total net yards throughout the contest.

Nix, who completed 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a decisive 12-play, 65-yard possession that ended with Lutz's short kick with just over five minutes remaining.

Record Struggles for Jets Attack

Despite their dismal performance, the Jets maintained possession with a opportunity to score a possible victory. But Fields was sacked on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it rather than calling on kicker Nick Folk for a difficult field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York finished with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any game since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented following the contest.
