Patriots Match Best Winning Streak Since Brady Era with Win Over Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

Rookie Henderson has scored five scores this season

The New England Patriots tied their longest winning run from the Brady period as they defeated division rivals the Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson shone brightly with three scores as the Patriots notched an eighth straight win for the initial occasion since iconic QB Brady's last year with the franchise in the 2019 season

Quarterback Drake Maye accumulated 281 passing yards and a score, connecting on 25 out of 34 attempts

The win extends the New England's advantage at the top of the division as they moved to a 9-2 record, with the New York bottom after dropping to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had taken the lead at Foxborough with QB Fields rushing for a five-yard TD to finish the Jets' initial series

But the Patriots responded in the second period as the rookie ran in two seven-yard TDs before the running back caught a pass from Drake Maye at the rear of the endzone midway through the third quarter to push the score to 21 to 7

"That was a crucial moment for him stepping up, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback commented on the rookie. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields found Metchie in the latter part of the third quarter to close the gap for the visitors but Andy Borregales kicked a pair of field goals in the final period as the home side sealed the win
