On a third consecutive evening, Irish police have faced a barrage of stones and fireworks in Dublin.

Hundreds of demonstrators assembled near the entrance of a facility sheltering asylum seekers in a westside area of the city.

This represents the latest evening of protests at Citywest following a reported sexual assault involving a 10-year-old girl in the vicinity of the building in the early hours on the start of the week.

A man in his twenties, who remains unnamed due to standard procedures in sexual assault proceedings, was presented in the judicial system on Tuesday charged in connection with the reported occurrence.

Several detentions were made during the serious unrest on that evening, and the national law enforcement pledged a “robust response” if the hostilities continued.

Between the early evening hours on Wednesday, a multitude of participants once more faced off against approximately forty uniformed officers.

The initial personnel were substituted by the specialized squad outfitted with protective gear and additional body protection after being struck from debris, stones, and fireworks.

Some protesters persisted to throw masonry, flares, glass bottles, and wooden planks at the police members.

Destructive acts also took place around the Saggart Luas tram stop, which is adjacent to the road used by the crowd.

Specialized officers pushed the assembly further from the hotel by progressing with their protective barriers.

A mounted unit and a canine team were deployed at the location, with a police helicopter providing aerial surveillance.

At least one officer was affected by an irritant, and those participating in the disorder also tried to obstruct police vehicles using metal obstructions.

While Monday night’s protest concluded without major incident, a female officer was hurt during Tuesday’s violence and subsequently discharged from medical care after attention for a injury to her foot.

A police vehicle was also set on fire during the previous disturbances in the week.

The police commissioner, who visited the scene following the events, stated on Wednesday that he was “determined” to see further individuals face legal proceedings to answer for their actions.

He characterized the disorder as far from calm and noted, “This was aggression with the purpose to damage the structure and frighten those within.”

The head of government condemned the scenes of violence, stating there could be “no justification” for attacks on police personnel.

Protesters were observed displaying national flags, chanting anti-immigration phrases, and launching missiles.

There were also efforts to advance on the officer formation using horse-drawn carts and off-road motorcycles on Tuesday, and a police helicopter above was targeted with lasers.
